In 2012 we will be delivering through the APMA (Australian Pilates Method Alliance ) the 69802 Diploma of Pilates Movement Therapy and 69803 Advanced Diploma of Pilates Movement Therapy. The course will be offered as part of the AQTF standard for health professionals, and not part of the Sports and Fitness package.. The dates of the training at the beginning of 2011 shall be advised shortly. Students wanting to participate in these courses must show that they have at least 50 hours of pilates experience before they commence the course. Students intending to enrol in the Diploma are given a discounted rate for their pilates classes to help them meet the criteria. The Polestar Pilates teacher programs teach movement analysis, group dynamics, and modifications for the low to moderate risk clients. The Polestar Fitness Screening and critical reasoning skills provide a solid infrastructure to assess and design custom Pilates programs. Students learn tactile skills, advanced body awareness and imagery for clear cueing.
