Gyrotonic® is a method of exercise developed in the 1970's it is aimed at encouraging Range of Movement. The system uses pullies, weights and rotational discs to encourage circular movement of the joints. The philosphy being that the circular movements emphasize work in the joints without compression and therefore increasing stamina, flexibility and strength. Gyrotonic® places emphasis on breath and flow throughout its whole body workout so that you can achieve a cardiovascular workout whilst supporting your joints. The method systematically moves the body through a series of circular motions, opening areas that are bound and tight. The goals of Gyrotonic training include: - increased flexibility and range of motion - back pain reduction - weight loss - enhanced athletic performance - muscular imbalance correction - injury recovery and prevention - Osteoporosis prevention Gyrotonic® is conducted in a one to one , one hour session.
